Due to an increased number of swine flu cases in Mexico and the USA Boryspil International Airport, together with other international airports, has implemented the following World Health Organisation recommended preventative measures for all flights departing from countries where an outbreak of the aforementioned transmissable disease has occurred.
Direct regular flights are not operated from Mexico to Boryspil International Airport, but regular international flights arrive from North America. Moreover the importation of all food products of animal origin IS FORBIDDEN into the territory of Ukraine. With immediate effect therefore, extra preventative measures will be enforced on all flights originating from the countries of North America to prevent the spread of the flu virus into the territory of Ukraine. These measures will include strict enforcement, management and disposal where necessary of in-flight catering leftovers, baggage, cargo etc.. Crews of these aircraft must also notify in advance the Operations Centre of the Airport about the presence on board of passengers displaying symptoms of virus infection eg. Colds, flu, or fever. In the past similar measures were implemented at Boryspil Airport in order to control the spread of the bird flu virus to Ukraine. |
