Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise was visited by Delegation of EURO 2012 Organizing Committee from Poland. The aim of the aforementioned visit was discussing of the issues regarding mutual preparation of airports in Poland and Ukraine for EURO 2012’ Football Championship. On the part of Poland Messrs. Rafal Marczewski, General Director’s Representative for EURO 2012’, (Warsaw Airport) and Tomasz Szymczak, National Coordinator for Airports, PL.2012. On the part of Ukraine the following representatives took part: Mr. Valentin Zgurskiy, Head of Airports Department, National Agency for EURO 2012’, Sergiy Khyzhnyak, Representative of EURO 2012’Local Organizing Committee, Borys Shakhsuvarov, General Director, Sergiy Murashkin, Deputy General Director on Operation, Sergiy Gombolevsky, Head of Air Terminal Complex, Kiril Astakhov, Deputy Head of Planning and Development Dpt. Mykola Korniyaka, Head of Technological Development Department. During the visit Polish representatives were informed of the progress in implementation of the preparation plan to EURO 2012’ Football Championship. They discussed the issues of establishing a common Polish-Ukrainian coordinating Committee to develop a programme for coordination between Ukrainian and Polish Airports for the period EURO 2012’ Football Championship Final. Polish part also presented updated data regarding preparation of the hosting and auxiliary airports in Poland. Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise is the main air gateway of Ukraine and it handles more than 60% of the air traffic of Ukraine. The airport is located at an intersection of many air routes running from Asia to Europe, America and back and is the only Ukrainian airport which serves transcontinental flights. More than 50 airlines operate scheduled passenger flights on nearly 100 international and domestic routes.
