Following the results of the first half of the year 2010 Boryspil airport showed a positive trend of its development. Within the said period 2.803.000 passengers arrived to Ukraine via its main air gateway, exceeding for 8% the figures of the year 2009 for the same period. Number of flights handled in the airport totals 43.145. This figure exceeds the figures of the previous year for 4%. It should also be stated that rate of growth is achieved mainly due to the passenger scheduled flights. Therefore it is the pledge of stable and smooth development of aviation industry. Since the beginning of 2010 new airlines have started to operate their flights. They are UTair Ukraine, Air Malta, Air Moldova, Tajik Air, Kuban airlines. New scheduled flights started to be operate en route: Kyiv- Blankensee/ Lubeck – Kyiv, Kyiv -Belgrad- Kyiv, Kyiv - Kishinev- Kyiv, Kyiv – Geneva - Kyiv, Kyiv - Split- Kyiv, Kyiv -Nizhnevartovsk- Kyiv, Krasnodar- Kyiv -Krasnodar, Dushanbe- Kyiv -Dushanbe, Malta - Kyiv - Malta. Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise is the main air gateway of Ukraine and it handles more than 60% of the air traffic of Ukraine. The airport is located at an intersection of many air routes running from Asia to Europe, America and back and is the only Ukrainian airport which serves transcontinental flights. More than 50 airlines operate scheduled passenger flights on nearly 100 international and domestic routes.
